Handy article from leftcolumn.net with 40 helpful Mac shell scripts and terminal commands. I use the show/hide hidden files command pretty often, make sure to run ‘killall Finder’ after you run the command for it to take effect.
Sparrow had an update this last week, wish they gave the wording a once over, looked slapdash (pictured below). TUAW had an article today about Sparrow replacements but after reading their names I couldn’t even bare to open the App Store to look at them.
The first suggestion was to use the iOS’s built in email app. A great suggestion when talking about replacing Sparrow, an app that replaced the default email client…
The second was the gmail client, which would be great, if I only used gmail. I don’t.
The last 2 I didn’t even want to look at, the naming for them was so asinine I nearly went blind. Camel-case and mashing together a bunch of words does not make for a compelling product name.
Pretty cool, wonder if I will use it once the novelty has worn off.
Good article over at Priceonomics ?about how much you can save by purchasing used or refurbished Apple products. I have purchased a few Apple products through their refurbished store and everything has worked great. Besides saving some money you get the one year warranty and can purchase Apple Care if you want. I never do but hey, it’s an option.
Using the Amelie template on Squarespace 6 I noticed that page title on the mobile version shows up a bit off, pictured below. The other issue I’ve run into is trying to resize an image and keep it centered, not happening. It’s one or the other, big and centered wins the day!
